Writing Again!
R.Aveen has started writing her next novel.
After a lot research and planning, she felt ready to begin writing. She has the big picture of the book worked out, but will continue to research, and come up with more ideas, as she writes.
The novel will begin in Sydney, Australia, but soon move to California, when Quinby and Jasper join a school excursion to the USA.

Research Trip
Los Angeles, California
R.Aveen was grateful to be able to spend a week in Los Angeles researching her next novel.
She had fun doing activities that the book's student group will experience, like going to Universal Studios Hollywood, Disneyland, and Santa Monica Pier.
​
While there, she had so many ideas for her second book, and is keen to get writing after some more online research and planning.

YA Book Club
Crystal Falls Library
R.Aveen was so excited to be invited to her first Young Adult Book Club for Animal Listeners, at Crystal Falls Library.
She gave a presentation, did a reading and a Q&A. She loved chatting with the Book Club members and local community.

Iron Mountain's newspaper, The Daily News, advertised the event with a great article.
Crystal Falls Library Director, Evelyn Gathu, who is the 2025 U.P. Librarian of the Year, has described Animal Listeners as a "gem of a book".

Annual Author Fair

Negaunee Public Library
Local television stations and newspapers covered the Annual Author Fair at Negaunee Public Library that was part of the town's Pioneer Days celebration.
R.Aveen was thrilled to be one of the invited authors at the event.

TRIO Upward Bound
​
Michigan Technological University
R.Aveen was thrilled to be invited to speak with students in this summer's TRIO Upward Bound program at Michigan Technological University.
​
It's a fantastic program that encourages local high school students to consider post-secondary education.
​
R.Aveen gave the program copies of Animal Listeners for the students, then met with them for a Q&A about being an author. She loved chatting with the group and was impressed by their thoughtful questions.
R.Aveen wishes them all every success.
Book Two
R.Aveen is officially working on the next book in the Animal Listeners series.
She had been writing notes whenever ideas came to her, but now she has added regular time for research to her work day.

She's eager to let her imagination run wild again ... this time in California.
